Fa Jin Karate-Kung Fu

Fa Jin Karate and Kung Fu is a class offering of Newfoundland Uechi-Ryu Karate. We provide instruction in a blend of Uechi-Ryu Karate and Feeding Crane Kung Fu. These styles are very similar and complementary. Both styles are suitable for training as one ages. Students will be graded for belt rankings in Uechi-Ryu Karate. Training is non-competitive. Training goals are self-defense and personal skill development. 

“Fa jin” (also known as “thunder power”) refers to the release of explosive power using coordinated whole body movement and without unnecessary tension. The development of “fa jin” can be pursued in any striking art and is a goal of our training.
